I've only just discovered Instagram, and although I initially didn't understand the appeal, I've found myself fighting the urge to snap anything and everything and upload it. This morning, as I sit here reviewing my pics for this post, I've realised I definitely could have taken more. Why am I resisting? Because I'm afraid of being judged. I've already been mocked and judged because of this blog, so how will people react if my life is also played out photographically on Instagram? I've always been labelled as a confident and extroverted person, but like anyone else, I have my insecurities. I'm not willing to let these insecurities rule my life though, so here goes.
Ladies and gents, here is my week according to Instagram!
- I declared that I stand for equal rights for all Australians when it comes to marriage
- My boys and I enjoyed a share plate for lunch, they loved the quince paste <3
- The gorgeous weather inspired hubby & I to have a bbq dinner and eat outside, it was lovely!
- What I read: Between the lines. Before this photo, I had a lovely pedicure & sushi dinner thanks to Kylez. After this photo, I found someone had smashed my car while we were enjoying ourselves. And we wonder why we doubt that there are good people in the world.
- So much sunshine resulted in a lot of time spent under the clothesline for A
- My small but much loved wine rack was re-stocked
- Light: The natural light and energy efficient butterfly lamp in A's butterfly garden themed room
- I took a moment to recognise the and acknowledge the amazing man in my life xx
Thanks Tina Gray, your lovely pics and blog hop have encouraged my love of Instagram!
How did your week look?

Hi kelly you are so real and honest on your blog i love reading. I get what u mean with fear of being judged. I am a big wuss when it comes to that so much that my real life friend had to beg me for ages before i told her my blog url. Not like i write anything controversial but just... I dunno. Insecure! Just thought ill leave a... pretty random unrelated note lol. Bummer about your car thats terrible! x
ReplyDeleteOh Mandy thank you so much for your kind words! xxx
DeleteI've been instagraming about 2 months now... some weeks I go great guns with it.. other weeks I kinda forget, but its a good way to keep up to date with twitter and facebook pictures too!!
ReplyDeleteLove your pictures.. wine rack is nice!! And the platter for nibbles for the kids is yummy!!
Thanks Yvette :) Hubby is always trying to find me bigger wine racks but I insist that I love my lil one, it sits so nicely on my shelf! Plus it was a gift from a very good friend x
DeleteOh who cares what other people think? I used to not get the appeal too, but now I rarely go away without sharing something. I'm addicted to the likes! ;)
ReplyDeleteHa, I know, the likes are addictive, aren't they!
DeleteWell said! :).
ReplyDeleteI also love love love Instagram! I snap everything and anything too. ;). It makes me look like a professional photographer, which I like! ;)
Thanks Jodi!
DeleteI agree, Instagram's ability to make an average pic look professional is pretty awesome :) x
Fairy wishes and butterfly kisses lovely, just keep on being true to yourself and all will sort itself out. Great photos as well :)
ReplyDeleteThanks hun xx
DeleteLove it. My craze with instagramnbbnn has sort of fizzled. And the only thing I photograph is kids- maybe if I spice it up I will be more attracted to it again. What I'm obsessed with at the momen is pinterest- omg it is the best thing since FB. I'm addicted to that thing- I will Definately be writing about it. It is great. Ps- I love all ur photos and u have nothing to be insecure about- ur great xx
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to stay away from Pinterest before it becomes just another thing that sucks up all my time! Thank you so much, you're too kind :)
DeleteLooking forward to your food pics lol x
I need to remember to have a look at A's room next time I am round, I don't think I have seen it lately with all the new additions. Take as many pics as you want darl, that's the beauty of Instagram, people wouldn't be on it if they didn't want to be bombarded with pictures!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a box of butterfly paraphernalia exploded in there, thanks to M. It's insane.
DeleteI LOVE instagram.
ReplyDeleteAre we friends? We should be friends...
I stalk you on a regular basis, that means we're BFF's :)
DeleteSo glad you are still putting stuff 'out there'.... I love seeing instagrams... Need to go and check whether I am following you - I am thinking I do... Hmmm....
ReplyDeleteI love the shot of your little poppet under the clothesline - sooooo cute!
Thanks B! Yes you are indeed following me, I fist pumped when I saw that ;-)
DeleteI love instagram too. Following #fmsphotoaday is a good way to get into the daily habit if you want to. It is a lot of fun. Love the butterfly light! V.
ReplyDeleteThanks V :) The butterfly light is the perfect nightlight, I just love it. x
DeleteOh I am totally addicted to Instagram. I love the fact that one minute I'm looking at a lovely picture from the other side of the world and a few seconds later I see what someone is eating or doing, then back to another part of the world looking at something totally different - its like travelling the world without leaving my comfy chair! The photoaday challenge is great for that few minutes distraction every day to make you think about the days theme, and of course Tinas blog hop is another great way to see and meet other instagram addicts. Its a shame about your car getting smashed, but I love your 'what I read' interpretation, and there is nothing better than a bbq - I can almost smell it :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great week you've had! Mmmmm, BBQ weather!
ReplyDeleteGreat shots.
ReplyDeleteI love instagram and doing this weekly will make a wonderful snapshot of the year.
I'm sorry about your car too.
